The male is black with the white color on its chest onward. The upper part of the wing and the outside edge are white. The female is blackish grey. It is the bird that has most beautiful voice. In the morning, it will wake us up with it very beautiful voice. It can make the low and high voice which looks like people speak with each other. It can make the voice to chase the enemy and mimic other bird’s voice. When it eats food and is already full or in the evening, it will cling on the top or the flagpole edge and sing with the different and unrepeated melody.
Can be found generally in Thailand.
Lives in the garden, villages, agricultural area, seaside, groove wood, and the bamboo forest. It normally stays in pairs. It lifts its tail up and down and spread out its tail like the fan. The male always brawls with each other and it sometimes makes the noise looks like the roar noise. It loves its own habitat and if there are other birds invading its area, it will peck and chase them away. The Oriental Magpie Robin builds the nest on the roof, hollow of the tree, the niche, the bamboo base, and the bamboo hole. The nest is roughly built with grass and root. It lays 3 to 5 eggs.
